Years Serving
At ProBuild of the Carolinas, we believe a remodeling project should never feel like a gamble. Too many homeowners across the Charlotte metro and the Carolinas border region have lived through projects that ran over budget, dragged past deadlines, or left them guessing what was happening next. We built this company to be the answer to that problem.
John Clevenger founded ProBuild of the Carolinas after years of watching homeowners get let down by contractors who overpromised and underdelivered. His approach is simple: plan the work thoroughly, communicate constantly, and never cut corners on structural integrity.
Our process is designed to eliminate the uncertainty that makes remodeling stressful. Here's exactly what to expect — from the first call to the final walkthrough.
Call or email us to talk through your project. No pressure, no obligation — just a real conversation about your goals, your timeline, and whether we're the right fit.
We visit your home and map out the full scope — timeline, materials, permits, and sequencing — before anything starts. You'll know exactly what the project involves before you commit to a thing.
Hands-on project management with regular, proactive updates. We don't wait for you to ask — we reach out first. You always know what's happening, when, and why.
We conduct a thorough review together and address every detail. We don't consider a project done until you do.
We handle permits, inspections, and cleanup throughout. You review and approve each phase before we move ahead.
Every project in our portfolio starts with a plan and ends with a walkthrough. Real photos from completed projects are being added now — check back soon, or call us to discuss a project similar to yours.
A Charlotte homeowner wanted to open up a compartmentalized first floor into a modern, open-concept living space. ProBuild removed two load-bearing walls, installed engineered beams, and reconfigured the layout — all permitted and engineered to code. The result: a completely transformed home that felt twice as large.
Structural & General ContractingA Fort Mill family needed more than a cosmetic kitchen update — they needed more space. ProBuild removed a non-structural wall between the kitchen and dining room, installed custom cabinetry, quartz countertops, and a large island. The project was completed on schedule with zero surprise costs.
Kitchen & Bath RemodelingRather than move, a Waxhaw couple chose to add a primary suite above their existing garage. ProBuild managed the full addition — framing, roofline integration, electrical, HVAC, and finish work — delivering a seamless result that matched the existing home's architecture perfectly.
Home Additions & ExpansionsA Huntersville homeowner wanted to extend their living space outdoors with a covered deck, built-in grill station, and entertainment area. ProBuild designed and built the full structure — from footings to roofline — creating an outdoor space the family uses year-round.
