Growing up in Kentucky, my dream as a kid was to become an astronaut and fly fighter jets.
I was always fascinated by how things worked, how systems came together, and how complex problems could be solved through preparation, discipline, and precision.
Some of my earliest memories are of working alongside my father repairing things around the house, learning how small details and careful work could make a big difference.
Looking back, I can see how those early experiences eventually shaped the path that led me into construction and business ownership.
I’ve always been competitive and naturally drawn toward discipline and problem-solving. Sports and music became a huge part of my life growing up and helped shape the way I approach challenges and preparation today.
I was a competitive athlete in soccer and track, and I was also deeply involved in music, eventually becoming one of the top-ranked clarinet players in Kentucky and performing Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A as a featured soloist after winning the Central Kentucky Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition.
Those experiences taught me something that still shapes how I operate today:
Success comes from preparation, consistency, attention to detail, and doing the small things right over and over again.
After high school, I attended the University of Tennessee, where I initially studied Aerospace Engineering before realizing my strengths were better suited for the business side of complex systems and operations.
I later earned a degree in Logistics & Transportation and completed my MBA with concentrations in Marketing, Finance, and New Ventures.
I spent years in corporate leadership and operational roles managing teams, systems, and business units for major companies. That experience taught me something important:
Successful organizations don’t rely on guesswork.
They rely on process, accountability, communication, and clear standards.
Later, while consulting with construction companies across the country and eventually operating my own painting business, I realized those same things were often missing in residential construction.
I saw projects being run reactively instead of proactively. Communication breaking down. Problems being addressed after the fact instead of being prevented upfront.
And homeowners were the ones dealing with the stress.
That realization changed everything for me.
Like many people in the Charlotte area, my family and I moved here in 2012, and over time Charlotte truly became home for us.
Today I live here with my wife, Olga, and our younger daughter, Sasha. My older daughter, Kaitlyn, attends college in Nashville, Tennessee. Like most families, so much of life still revolves around home, even as kids grow up and move into new stages of life.
That perspective shapes the way I approach this business.
When someone hires us to work on their home, they’re trusting us with the place where their family gathers, celebrates, relaxes, and lives their daily life. That’s not something I take lightly.
After years in the corporate world and several reorganizations that impacted my long-term financial stability, I decided it was time to build something of my own.
Not just another construction company.
A company built around structure, communication, accountability, and doing things the right way.
I started with a painting business, where I learned the Charlotte market, built relationships with quality subcontractors, and gained firsthand experience delivering projects homeowners were proud of.
Over time, I realized I already knew the right people to handle nearly every aspect of construction. For years I had been referring projects out to others before deciding it was time to bring everything together under one roof.
That eventually led to the launch of ProBuild of the Carolinas.
One early project reinforced exactly why systems, communication, and accountability matter so much in construction.
A mistake during a project led to work that needed to be corrected for the homeowner.
There wasn’t any debate about what to do.
We took responsibility, made it right at no cost to the customer, and improved our internal quality checks to help ensure that type of issue doesn’t happen again.
That experience reinforced something I believe strongly:
In construction, problems can happen. What matters is how you respond when they do.
At ProBuild of the Carolinas, if something isn’t right, we make it right.
Outside of work, I enjoy college football, traveling, and woodworking. I’ve always enjoyed building things, whether that’s working with my hands in the shop or helping homeowners transform the spaces where they spend some of the most important moments of their lives.
Our goal is simple:
Deliver high-quality renovations through strong planning, clear communication, disciplined systems, and a team that takes pride in doing things the right way.
Because when someone invites you into their home, that trust matters.
And we take that responsibility seriously.
If you’re considering a structural renovation, outdoor living project, kitchen remodel, or major home transformation, we’d love the opportunity to learn more about your goals and see if we’re the right fit for your project.
At ProBuild of the Carolinas, we believe great projects start with clear expectations, thoughtful planning, and a team you can trust from start to finish.
