Before starting this business, I spent years in corporate leadership roles with companies like Cummins, Navistar, and Ingersoll-Rand. My background also includes engineering training and business consulting with construction companies.

What I saw during that time was clear.

The best companies didn’t rely on guesswork.

They relied on systems. Clear processes. Accountability.

When I entered the residential construction space, I noticed something very different.

Many projects were being run without structure. Communication was inconsistent. Problems were handled reactively instead of proactively.

That didn’t sit right with me.

So I built ProBuild of the Carolinas to operate differently

Oversees project management, quality control, and client communication. Personally involved throughout the project to ensure everything stays on track.

Cody – Project Consultant & Estimator

Cody leads the estimating process for most projects. He meets with homeowners, develops the project scope, and prepares and reviews the estimate in person.

He brings more than 15 years of construction experience, including work on complex structural and restoration projects.

Hannah – Administrative Coordinator

Manages scheduling, communication, and project coordination to keep everything organized from the start.

Erin – Permits & Inspections

Handles permitting and coordination with local municipalities to keep projects moving through approvals smoothly.

Jose – Lead Construction Partner

Oversees on-site work and coordinates construction activities to ensure projects are completed to our standards.

I’m John Clevenger, owner of ProBuild of the Carolinas.

I didn’t start my career in construction. My background includes engineering training, corporate leadership roles with companies like Cummins, Navistar, and Ingersoll-Rand, and consulting with construction businesses.

What I learned during that time was how successful operations actually work.

Today, I bring that same systems-driven approach into every project, combining planning, coordination, and hands-on oversight to make sure things are done right.

I stay directly involved throughout construction, regularly visiting job sites, managing quality, and communicating with homeowners.
